Workshop & Residences

The Festival’s education department has been creating and implementing custom curriculum for schools and groups year-round since its creation. Idaho Shakespeare Festival can develop workshops and /or residencies for schools to fit any schedule, and to compliment any established curriculum. Our experienced and lively educators can teach performance skills or techniques that are specific to programs students are working on in the classroom, or on stage. We can even help your students dive into a full musical theater experience – or any of their heart’s desires. Idaho Shakespeare’s education department can develop a class that will support any curriculum!

Team Building Workshops for Companies

Would you like to spice up your next team building event? Could your organization benefit by empowering your employees to make daring decisions? What would your company look like if your staff engaged in active and enthusiastic collaboration? Idaho Shakespeare Festival offers workshops that bring the best benefits of theater to your team. Our Actor/Educators will run a program tailored to your organization that fosters vulnerability, risk-taking, and active listening.

After spending so long in front of screens lately, we are all in dire need of connection and communication. Let’s work together to revitalize the culture of your organization and provide your team with skills that will lead to success.

Are you interested in our program, but not sure what to ask for? Here are samples of the workshops we can create for you, but the sky’s the limit!

Getting Vulnerable

It can be hard to step into the spotlight. Our actor/educators will teach your team the basics of improvisational theater, including how to work together, support one another, and think on their feet. This program includes a number of Improv training exercises and culminates in a performance by and for those in attendance.

Public Speaking

Speaking in public is one of our biggest fears as human beings. Our actor/educators will work with your team to cultivate bravery and clear communication. By using classical speeches from Shakespeare’s work, your employees will have a chance to embody these powerful and clever characters–giving them the strategies to deeply engage a room and speak from the heart.

Working Together

In our fast-paced world, we often find ourselves working with large groups of individuals with differing pathways to success. Our actor/educators will create an engaging bonding experience for your team. Bringing together lessons from movement theater, clowning, and improvisation, your group will learn how much fun it can be to work together while celebrating each individual member’s contributions.
